Publication Requirements and Acknowledgement

Sponsor Acknowledgement

CNMS users must include the following acknowledgement on all publications that include work done at the CNMS:

(Insert capabilities - for example Microscopy or STM) research conducted as part of a user project at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS), which is a US Department of Energy, Office of Science User Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

*DOE expects the acknowledgment to indicate which parts of the reported work were supported by which agency whenever possible. For example, “Fabrication of the nanostructures was supported by…” rather than simply “A portion of the research was conducted at...”

Please see the DOE Office of Science website for additional guidance at https://science.osti.gov/Funding-Opportunities/Acknowledgements.

Press Releases

All press releases referring to work carried out at CNMS or any of the other Nanoscale Science Research Centers must include the following information:

The Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences is one of the five DOE Nanoscale Science Research Centers, premier national user facilities for interdisciplinary research at the nanoscale supported by the DOE Office of Science. Together the NSRCs comprise a suite of complementary facilities that provide researchers with state-of-the-art capabilities to fabricate, process, characterize and model nanoscale materials, and constitute the largest infrastructure investment of the National Nanotechnology Initiative. The NSRCs are located at DOE’s Argonne, Brookhaven, Lawrence Berkeley, Oak Ridge, Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.
