Peter Thornton

Director of the Climate Change Science Institute

Dr. Peter Thornton is a distinguished scientist and section head for Earth Systems Science in the Environmental Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has been active in the Climate Change Science Institute since its inception, serving in a variety of roles, and he has been a member of the scientific staff at ORNL since 2008. Thornton also serves as a mentor to several technology projects in Oak Ridge Public Schools and as a board member for the Oak Ridge Public Schools Education Foundation.
