R&D Staff Member - Power Electronics Systems Integration

Misael Francisco Martínez Montejano is a R&D Staff Member - Power Electronics Systems Integration in ORNL where he has been working since October 2021.

Misael completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Scientific Research and Technology of San Luis Potosi (IPICYT), Mexico in conjunction with the University of Sevilla, Spain. His research interests lie in Power Electronics, mathematical modeling, application of non-linear control techniques (such as passivity, adaptive control, linearization by state feedback, sliding modes, etc.), multilevel converters, STATCOMs, MV drives, DG systems and renewable energy systems (wind generators and photovoltaic cells).

Misael has lead projects related to Prototype Power Plants, BESS, medium voltage (MV) drives for marine applications (DDG1000 and MV7000) as well Power Studies and simulations. As part of the R&D Execution department in GE Power Switzerland, he developed and improved control functions that later he tested in the Active Generator 400MW Power Plant Birr3 Test Campaign.

Misael is married, has 3 sons and, because that clearly isn't enough chaos, a dog. Misael enjoys working out, hiking, sci-fiction and superheroes movies, play guitar and read books.
