Method and strain for sugar conversion

Invention Reference Number

201904387

Technology Summary

Biological conversion of plant biomass requires a microorganism that can eat all of the breakdown products of plant biomass. Pseudomonas putida KT2440 is an emerging platform for bioconversion of plant polymers, but it does not eat galactose, a major sugar found in plant material. We have engineered microorganisms to catabolize galactose.
