Yuchen Jiang is currently a postdoc researcher working on nuclear fusion blanket research and development (R&D), Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) phenomenon investigation and Liquid Metal Plasma Facing Component (LM PFC) simulation. He got his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from UCLA in 2023, with a major in fluid mechanics and a minor in heat and mass transfer. He has the knowledge of numerical methods (finite difference, finite volume), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), coding (Fortran, C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Java), and CAE tools (UG NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD). His previous and current research are focused on establishment, validation and verification (V&V), and utilization of computational models for liquid metal applications.

During his free time, he likes hiking, playing table tennis, billiards, pickleball, tennis and badminton.
