Blanket and Fuel Cycle

The Blanket and Fuel Cycle Group, part of the Fusion Nuclear Science, Technology, and Engineering Section, provides the technical basis and solutions for the DT fuel cycle and efficient power extraction in future fusion systems.

The group's vision is to move fusion closer to being a viable energy source, establishing ORNL as a world leader in fusion science and technology by building on the strong success of the current fusion technology program in pellet fueling, exhaust pumping, and heat extraction.
