Matthew Whitehead is a Geospatial Developer in the Geoinformatics Engineering Group of the National Security Emerging Technologies Division. His focuses include geospatial web development, data science, machine learning and systems architecture. He has been involved with several ongoing efforts including the LandScan USA population model and data development for the Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD) project. Other projects include development and deployment of several web applications for internal lab use to address emergency planning, utilities, environmental impacts, and space management as well as system architecture and back end development for the Connected Neighborhood project; an effort that monitors home energy use for a neighborhood outfitted with IoT sensors.
