Tyler Cooksey preps Bio SANS instrument for use.

To learn more about interactions between drug molecules and micelles, Associate Professor Megan Robertson and graduate students Tyler Cooksey and Tzu-Han Li from the University of Houston (UH) are using neutrons at the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

Kushol Gupta adjusts Bio SANS instrument at the High Flux Isotope Reactor.

Kushol Gupta hopes to beat HIV’s defenses. A research assistant professor from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, Gupta recently concluded an experiment at the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) he hopes will improve allosteric inhibitors of integrase (ALLINIs), a new class of HIV-fighting drug that inhibits the virus’s ability to reproduce.
