Jean-Christophe C Bilheux

Computer Instrument Scientist

Dr Bilheux is a computer scientist working with the Neutron Imaging team. His role is to implement tools to help users with data normalization and analysis. He works closely with the scientific and engineering research community to make sure the tools available answer their needs. He also participates to experiments to understand the analysis workflow. His current scientific interests are the development of intuitive Jupyter python notebooks and user interfaces using python, pyqt and pyqtGraph. He received his PhD in physics from the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin (France) in 2003.

Dr Bilheux is also working on the front end implementation of the data reduction for the SANS instruments. This requires the use of Java and Vaadin to provide an interface through a browser.

Outside work, Jean enjoys flying, playing soccer and many other hobbies.
