Dr. Gui-Jia Su is a distinguished R&D staff member in the Electric Drives Research group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Dr. Su specializes in research related to power electronics for power management and variable speed motor drive in a variety of applications. He has received 2024 R&D 100 award for a compact and lightweight polyphase extreme fast wireless charging system and been named the Battelle Distinguished Inventor in 2022.
Dr. Su is a recognized expert in power converter and motor control across a range of applications, including high frequency power distribution systems, industrial drives, and electric vehicles.
Dr. Su has published more than 120 papers in IEEE journals and conferences, on topics related to various power converter topologies and sensor-less motor control. She holds 21 patents, including compact and lightweight dc/dc converters, traction drive inverters, and high-power wireless EV charging systems.
Dr. Su received his PhD and MS in electrical engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, and his BS in electrical engineering from Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering, China.
