Bio
Diāna Stamberga is from Ogre, Latvia. She pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at Riga Technical University (RTU) in Riga, Latvia while working in Dr. Māris Turks’ group on the synthesis of aziridine-triazole conjugates for novel anti-cancer drug development. After graduating from RTU in 2015 she worked as a research assistant in Dr. Valerjans Kauss’ group at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis where she performed the synthesis of biologically active compounds. She was simultaneously enrolled in Master’s studies in chemistry at the University of Latvia. She spent a semester studying at Ruhr University Bochum in Bochum, Germany in 2016. After returning to Latvia Diāna continued working at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and graduated from the University of Latvia with a Master’s degree of Natural Sciences in Chemistry in 2017. She joined the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Chemical Sciences Division as a Postmasters Research Associate in the Chemical Separations Group in 2018 and joined the Chemical Separations Group staff as a Technical Associate in 2020. Diāna continues working with Chemical Separations Group as Technical Staff since April 2023.
