Spin-phonon interaction drives real-space charge modulation in kagome magnet


Inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS) and angle-resolve photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) measurements revealed that the charge density wave (CDW) in a kagome magnet is driven by an unconventional spin-phonon coupling.

The measurements establish an unconventional phonon hardening as a spectroscopic signature of spin-phonon coupling driven CDW in the kagome magnet FeGe.
