Critical enhancement of spin-Hall effect in magnetic metals

Scientific Achievement: Newly developed theory for spin-Hall effect in magnetic metals based on spin fluctuations predicts critical enhancement of spin-Hall conductivity near magnetic transition temperatures.

Significance and Impact: Results demonstrate that magnetic metals, both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic, can be useful for spintronic applications for conversion of charge and spin currents at high temperatures.
