Connecting lattice geometries to realize spin liquids

Combining neutron scattering and graph theory reveals a deep connection between bipartite and nonbipartite lattices for the realization of spin liquids.

This work demonstrates that nonbipartite lattices can serve as hosts of spiral spin liquids, thereby greatly expanding the candidate materials to probe and ultimately harness the unique characteristics of a spin liquid.
