The modernization of SCALE features has been a target for recent SCALE releases. ORIGEN, the activation and depletion code in SCALE, is one such legacy code that has been targeted for modernization. A part of these modernization efforts has been to develop capabilities within ORIGEN to directly read ENDF-formatted data files. In addition, the input format for the COUPLE library creation utility was rewritten to a format more accessible to newer SCALE users. Finally, the ability of COUPLE to create ORIGEN libraries without sublibrary data has been added.
