Vickey Luckadoo started her career with ORNL in February 2010, as an Sr. Administrative Assistant in the Computing and Computational Sciences Division (CCSD), and later where she worked in Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) for 8 years. In her current role, she supports the Nuclear Analytical Chemistry (NAC) Section in the Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) in the Physical Sciences Directorate (PSD).
Following in her father's footsteps of military service, Vickey joined the United States Air Force in 1986. From a large family, I was self-taught, Vickey recalls, and I had a strong desire to learn, that set me out on a course to join and serve my country. Vickey initially joined the Missouri Air National Guard in the Civil Engineering Squadron as a Heavy Equipment Operator, training to support combat operations to managing infrastructure at military installations, while performing as one of the Personalist in the squadron.
Several years later, Vickey moved to Tennessee and joined the Tennessee Air National Guard in the 134th Air Refueling Wing, Logistics Readiness Squadron. Providing readiness, and managing supplies, vehicles, and fuel, and planning deployments that provided vital logistical support to the Air Force and the Wing. During her enlistment she attended the Administrative Airman School, Enlisted Professional Military Education Technical School in Keesler AFB, MS, for Knowledge Operations Management, and the Personalist Technical School, in Keesler AFB, MS, Airman Leadership, Non-Commissioned Officer Academy in England AFB, FL, and Security Manager Course. Vickey was deployed in 1991 to Incirlik AFB, Turkey, to support Operation Provide Comfort. In 2016, Vickey was called to active duty to work at McGhee Tyson Base to support her unit who deployed to Operation Inherent Resolve. In 2020 Vickey deployed to Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar, to support Operation Freedom Sentinel. After serving over 20 years, Vickey retired as a Master Sergent in February, 2023
Vickey has over 34 years as an administrative professional and holds a Certificate of Excellence and is a member of the American Society of Administrative Professionals.
