Thomas S Dyke

Nuclear Engineering Radiochemist - Technical Associate Staff Member

Thomas Dyke is a Radiochemist in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Chemical Sciences Division, supporting a nuclear analytical chemistry group focused on nuclear forensics and reference material production and verification. With 15 years of chemistry experience spanning isotope production, analytical services, and quality-driven operations, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to process coordination, data interpretation, and research support.

At ORNL, Thomas performs radiochemical sample preparation for trace and ultra-trace characterizations, working across clean rooms, radiological hoods, contamination areas, and gloveboxes with a strong emphasis on operational cleanliness and material accountability. He also serves as the Nuclear Material Control & Accountability Material Balance Area Representative (MBAR) and contributes to procedure writing, customer reporting, and radioactive material shipment coordination. Previously, he supported radioisotope production at ORNL, including hands-on separations and process improvements for programs such as Actinium-225 for targeted alpha therapy, as well as R&D efforts involving 147Pm, 237Np, and 227Th/223Ra.
