I am a computer scientist who works on graph analysis and machine learning. My research largely focuses on networked computing systems, on top of the understanding of mathematical and statistical methods, in conjunction with application areas. My application areas include computer science issues (e.g., computing system operations), as well as interdisciplinary domain sciences like computational biology (e.g., gene expression and protein interface) and computational physics (e.g., neutronics and molecular dynamics).
I joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Feb 2012 as a postdoctoral research associate, transited into a staff member in Sept 2013. I obtained PhD in computer science and engineering from Penn State in 2012, under the guidance of Dr. Chita R. Das. I obtained my Master's degree in 2000 and bachelor's degree in 1998, both from Seoul National University, Korea. Between PhD and Master's degree, I worked as a software engineer at Samsung electronics from Feb 2000 to Aug 2005.
