Bio
Over the past twenty years, Dr. Rodney Hunt’s research has focused on the preparation of spherical nuclear fuel using the internal gelation process. Due to Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s unique resources, Northwest Nuclear Isotopes and NASA have placed sole source contracts for uranium microspheres for different applications. Dr. Hunt has 94 peer reviewed publications and 4 U.S. patents. Since 2019, Dr. Hunt has been an associate editor for the Journal of Nuclear Materials. He has consulted with several private companies that are producing TRISO coated fuel particles.
