Bio
Youngrock (Rocky) brings more than 17 years of combined academic and industrial expertise to
the realms of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and robotics. His
research is centered on advancing vision sensing technology to comprehend real-world
scenes, whether in 2D or 3D, under uncontrolled lighting conditions. Additionally, he
focuses on translating vision information into meaningful data to address industrial
challenges. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Computer Vision Engineer and leading
the Computer Vision Engineering Team at Cubic ITS, Youngrock previously held positions
as a senior Computer Vision Research Scientist at Conduent Labs, a principal research
scientist at VideoMining, and a Computer Vision Researcher at Tandent Vision Science
Inc. His professional journey includes roles at the US Air Force Academy and the
University of Central Florida as a post-doctoral researcher. Youngrock earned his Ph.D.
in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
