Dr. Randy Ngelale is an R&D associate in the Fuel Cycle Chemical Technology Research Group at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He received his Ph. D in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine in 2019. With a combined 15 years of Engineering Design and laboratory experience in Radiochemistry and Chemical Separations, Randy has performed research for sponsors including DOE-NE and NNSA as well as key industry partners. Dr. Ngelale's areas of research span the breadth of the nuclear energy fuel cycle, ranging from front-end uranium conversion process engineering, to back-back end radiolytic degradation in solvent extraction systems and thermodynamic modeling of volatile species during reprocessing.
