Bio
Peter Doyle is a postdoctoral research assistant working in the Nuclear Fuel Element Performance group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His primary work focuses on the development of novel tools for the examination of fuel performance in accident scenarios. Additionally, he supports the development of metallic fuels and fuel coatings through materials characterization with electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, TOF-SIMS, and techniques. In his graduate work, he examined the corrosion behavior of coated and uncoated CVD SiC in LWR environments considering the effects of radiation also in exacerbating corrosion behavior. Peter received his PhD from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) in Nuclear Engineering in 2020. Prior to that he received a M.S. from UTK in Nuclear Engineering (2017) and B.S. in Chemistry and in Chemical Engineering from Geneva College (2015).
