Research and Development Staff

Dr. Mini Malhotra is R&D Staff at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Her expertise include performance evaluation of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies through energy simulation and field testing, and development of analysis/audit tools for building energy use, health and safety in residential buildings, and industrial water use. Some of her key research projects at ORNL include development of Weatherization Assistant suite of audit tools for existing homes and multifamily buildings (that includes NEAT, MHEA, MulTEA and Health and Safety Audit), Plant Water Profiler (PWP) Tool for manufacturing industry, techno-economic modeling tool for geothermal heat pump applications in buildings, case studies of a number of ground-source heat pump demonstration projects, and design and characterization of new building types for DOE’s Commercial Prototype Building Model suite. She is a member of ASHRAE and serves on multiple technical committees. She received Master of Science in Architecture and PhD from Texas A&M University, College Station.
