Kyle B Grammer

Neutronics Scientist

Kyle Grammer is a member of the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) Instrument Development and Neutronics Group (IDNG) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

His PhD work at the University of Tennessee focused on fundamental neutron physics, working a parity violation experiment at SNS and the in-beam neutron lifetime experiment at the NIST Center for Neutron Research. Following graduation in 2015, he returned to ORNL to join the Neutronics Team at SNS as a postdoctoral researcher. During his postdoctoral appointment, he developed code extensions for MCNP that provide tools for performing more detailed and accurate simulations of cold neutron beams for instrument design, development, shielding, and background studies. He converted to a full staff member in 2019.
