
Bio
Dr. Niedziela is a Physicist, and Senior Research and Development Staff member in the National Security Sciences Directorate. She leads the Applied Materials Analysis Group in the Materials Characterization and Modeling Section of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division. The Applied Materials Analysis Group seeks to understand and translate fundamental materials insights to applied needs in service of multiple stakeholders.
Dr. Niedziela's research investigates fundamental materials physics using a combination of spectroscopy and high performance computing techniques, seeking specifically to gain new insights into the spectroscopic characteristics of defected, disordered, and out of equilibrium materials.
Dr. Niedziela has a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics, and has over 20 years of experience working in a national laboratory setting.
