Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Guannan Zhang joined ORNL as the Householder Fellow in 2012. He is a Senior Research Scientist in Data Analysis and Machine Learning Group, Computer Science and Mathematics Division, Computing and Computational Science Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His research interests include high-dimensional approximation, uncertainty quantification, machine learning and artificial intelligence, stochastic optimization and control, numerical solution of stochastic differential equations, and model reduction for parametrized differential equations. He received the DOE Early Career Award in 2022. He serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations, and the Associate Editor for the Journal of Machine Learning for Modeling and Computing. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. in applied mathematics at Florida State University in 2012, and received his Bachelor's degree in mathematics and Master's degree in mathematics in 2007 and 2009, respectively, at Shandong University.
