Gernot Rother

Neutron Scientist

Dr. Rother received his Diplom (1996, equivalent MS) in Chemistry and Ph.D (2002) in Physical Chemistry from Technical University Berlin. In his thesis work, he studied phase separation of binary liquids in nanopores and surfactant adsorption phenomena. Graduate Advisors Prof. Gerhard Findenegg and Prof. Martin Schoen. During his Post-Doc studies at Research Centre Juelich (2002-2005), he worked in polymer physics with Dr. Stellbrink and Prof. Richter. Since 2005, he has been at ORNL, applying neutron scattering and sorption measurement techniques to nano-scale rock and materials characterization and fluid behaviors studies.
