DaHan Liao received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, with an emphasis on applied electromagnetics. He has been a Research and Development Staff Member with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), since October 2019. Prior to joining ORNL, he was with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD, USA, from 2009 to 2019, where he had been involved in many programs related to RF sensing and detection. He has published over 80 technical articles, for over 60 of which he is the lead author. His current research interests include antennas, electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, computational electromagnetics for communications and radar applications, foliage- and ground-penetrating technology, and radar modeling and analysis for complex scenes.
