RF and Intelligent Systems

The RF and Intelligent Systems group develops low-power sensing systems, algorithms and modeling approaches for understanding and monitoring the security and health of critical infrastructure. Researchers develop:

  • Sensors and algorithms for making sense of complex wireless communication environments.
  • Sensing systems with onboard artificial intelligence to deploy signal and image processing at the edge.
  • Algorithms to monitor electric grid health and radio frequency modeling to understand risks to power plants.
  • New antenna designs and novel waveforms for novel sensing applications.
  • Standards-based testing of instrumentation systems for internal and external customers using NVLAP-accredited facilities and equipment.
