Brett Eiffert

Research Software Engineer

Brett Eiffert has been at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) since 2020 as a Research Software Engineer. Brett came to ORNL as a traditional software engineer and has transitioned towards research in high performance computing. His interests include accelerating both new and existing software and algorithms with the latest graphics processing units (GPUs). Naturally, this also involves interest in deep learning, artificial intelligence, and statistics. His experience includes porting the Chapel language to GPUs, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), and accelerating traditional statistical models with GPUs.

Brett still maintains his skills in traditional software development where his interests lie in the development of large data applications and APIs.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Statistics from Purdue University in 2018.
