Bio
Andrew Duncan is an R&D researcher and the Group Lead for the Autonomous Systems group. He serves in advisory capacities for multiple government agencies on the subjects of unmanned aircraft technology and operational policy and is considered an expert in UAS operations supporting our nation’s nuclear security mission. His most recent research has been focused on developing technologies to secure sensitive nuclear sites, counter-UAS technologies, advanced human-machine interface technologies, remote sensing, and geospatial applications for UAS. He is a licensed pilot and holds a BS in Aviation Management from the Middle Tennessee State University as well as a Master of Aeronautical Science degree from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2019, he was awarded the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Team Research Accomplishment award in acknowledgement of his research contributions.
