The B-sitecation-excessK2NiF4-type structureoxide,Pr2Ni0.75Cu0.25Ga0.05O4þδ (PNCG) isinvestigatedasacathodeforintermediate-
temperature solidoxidefuelcells(IT-SOFCs).XRDresultshowsthatPNCGcathodeischemicallycompatiblewiththeelectrolyte
Gd0.1Ce0.9O2δ (GDC) at900 oC for5h.ThePNCGmaterialexhibitsasemiconductortometaltransitionaround425 oC. Thethermal
expansion coefficient (TEC)ofthePNCGsampleis12.72106 K1 between 30and850 oC inair.Thepolarizationresistance(Rp) ofPNCG
cathode onGDCelectrolyteis0.105,0.197and0.300 Ω cm2 at 800,750,700 1C, respectively.Amaximumpowerdensityof371mWcm2 is
obtained at800 1C forsingle-cellwith300 μm thickGDCelectrolyteandPNCGcathode.TheresultsofthisstudydemonstratethatPNCGcanbe
a promisingcathodematerialforIT-SOFCs.
