Nitrogen-Doped Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles as Antibacterial, Bond-Promoting and Bioactive Agents for Dental Adhesive Resins

INVENTION REFERENCE NUMBER

201603765

  • Materials

The experimental dental adhesive resins containing nanoparticles (either doped or co-doped) in distinct concentrations are the main objective of the present invention. The results presented in subsequent sections demonstrate that the incorporation of nanoparticles into a dental adhesive resin resulted in experimental materials having better optical and antibacterial properties when compared to the unaltered adhesive resin (control group). In addition, in vitro testing has also demonstrated that experimental adhesive resins have bioactive properties that could improve the service lives of polymer-based dental biomaterials.
