This disclosure covers two separate concepts that are, and will be, investigated for the purpose of mitigating the effects of high frequency induced parasitic losses in conductive materials. The skin effect phenomena is well known and methods to minimize its effects consist of dividing the cross-section area of a given conductor into an integral number of subsections so that current flow in each of the individual, and separately insulated, subsections has the same current density as in the single larger conductor. This finely divided conductor approach (high number of insulated strands) has its limit in the classic Litz wire, which is very expensive for obvious reasons. The two concepts modify the skin properties of the conductor to reduce the parasitic losses.
