My research integrates fire ecology, plant ecology, remote sensing, field measurements, GIS, Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), and Earth system modeling (ESM) across local, regional, and global scales. My interests center on three main themes: 1) developing high-quality geospatial datasets for natural hazards (including wildfires and drought); 2) investigating interactions among fire regimes, drought, vegetation dynamics, human activities, land use and land cover change, and environmental change; and 3) designing sustainable adaptation and mitigation strategies for extreme events.
