Post-Doc- Molten Salt Characterization

Peggy Milota is a Post Doc with ORNL’s Energy Systems Development group under the Fuel Cycle Science and Technology division.  She currently works primarily in molten salt thermophysical property measurement, does laser induced breakdown spectroscopy measurements whenever she can and has a penchant for glovebox upkeep.  As a PhD student, her research focused on the use of laser ablation for pre-passivation of structural materials used in chloride salts, as a means of corrosion mitigation.  Prior to graduate school, she was a nuclear-trained machinist mate in the US Navy and worked as a trainer and procedure writer for fossil fuel power plants.
