Parth Kadav

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Parth Kadav is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Applied Research for Mobility Systems (ARMS) group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His research focuses on connected and automated vehicle systems, multi-platform simulation integration, and perception in adverse weather conditions. He has experience in developing reinforcement learning pipelines for vehicle control, helping build digital twins for simulation platforms, and advancing perception through V2I and on-board sensors.

Prior to his current role, he served as a Graduate Research Intern at ORNL, where he led real-vehicle demonstrations of infrastructure-assisted vehicle control technologies and contributed to collaborative projects on connected and automated mobility. During his doctoral studies at Western Michigan University’s Energy Efficient and Autonomous Vehicles (EEAV) Lab, he worked on perception and control systems for automated vehicles with an emphasis on operation in adverse weather (specifically snow). His earlier experience includes undergraduate research in vehicle instrumentation and data collection, as well as an industry internship at Benteler International AG focused on process improvement and manufacturing optimization.
