Kalie E. Miera

Kalie (Lazarou) Miera is a R&D Associate and Energy Engineer in the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & analysis (MEERA) Group in the Manufacturing Science Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Her research supports energy efficiency for manufacturers across the U.S.

She actively supports:

• DOE’s Better Plants program (Program Page)

• DOE’s Onsite Energy Technical Assistance program (Program Page)

• DOE’s Industrial Systems Energy Efficiency Development (ISEED) Collaborative workforce program (Program Page)

Previous to her role at ORNL, she was a Senior Energy Engineer for 3M’s Engineering Organization. In this position, Kalie developed and implemented corporate strategy for energy management of operations for 200+ global manufacturing facilities. Kalie’s work has been recognized through various awards including the Association of Energy Engineers’ International Young Energy Professional Award (2023) and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and ISO 50001 Lead Auditor (50001 LA) through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
