Jordan J. Marshall

Hot Cell Operations Technician

Jordan joined the team as a Hot Cell Operator Technician in the Isotope Processing and Manufacturing Division, REDC Hot Cell Operations in December 2025, where he supports radiochemical operations and isotope production missions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Building 7920. Jordan performs hands-on chemical processing, ensuring that all research and operational activities are completed safely, compliantly, and efficiently in alignment with program goals, timelines, and resource requirements. Jordan’s responsibilities include conducting complex radiochemical processing operations such as dissolution, separation, purification, recovery, and preparation of radioisotopes in support of research and development and production efforts. He supports the testing, development, and field application of specialized equipment and processes used for chemical separation and material handling, applying principles of chemistry, physics, engineering, and related sciences.

Jordan was raised in East Tennessee and graduated from William Blount High School in Maryville. He joined the United States Air Force in 2019, where he served for 6 years as a Water and Fuel Systems Maintenance Technician. During his service, Jordan has gained hands-on experience maintaining and repairing plumbing, water, and wastewater distribution systems across multiple bases. He has supported large-scale maintenance operations and infrastructure projects, developing a strong foundation in mechanical systems and preventative maintenance.

While on active duty, Jordan earned an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical and Electrical Technology. He also participated in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where he served as a Maintenance Engineering Intern in the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) wing (Building 7995) from June 2025 to November 2025.
