Jinping Xue

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Jinping Xue is an environmental geochemist and a postdoctoral research associate in the Environmental Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research focuses on trace element biogeochemistry, investigating the geochemical and microbial processes that regulate the speciation, transformation, and flux of trace elements in aquatic and terrestrial systems. His work integrates environmental geochemistry, stable isotope geochemistry, microbiology, and analytical chemistry with fieldwork, controlled experiments, and advanced analytical methodologies.

Jinping earned his Ph.D. in 2024 from Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France), conducting research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)-affiliated IPREM Institute. He also holds an M.Sc. in soil science from the University of Alberta, Canada (2021), and a B.Sc. in environmental science from Southwest University, China (2017). His international research experience includes research stays at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (July 2017) and at Universidad de Playa Ancha in Chile (March 2023). His research mission is to advance environmental geochemical science through interdisciplinary collaboration, mentor the next generation of researchers, and promote diversity and inclusivity in academic communities.
