As an Administrative Assistant in the Physical Sciences Directorate, I support the Surface Engineering and Tribology and Alloy Behavior & Design groups. I love keeping things running smoothly so our teams of brilliant scientists and researchers can stay focused on their cutting‑edge work. I’m all about teamwork and take pride in the behind‑the‑scenes support that helps great science come to life.
I was born and raised in Kingston, Tennessee, and I’m grateful to be starting my career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I bring with me a strong background in K–12 education, where I spent many years supporting students, families, and school communities.
I also serve as the Chief Operating Officer of The Faith In Action Foundation – Honoring the Life of Blazer Beaumia, a nonprofit founded in memory of a son, brother, grandson, and teammate who was tragically killed in a car accident in April 2023. Through this foundation, I help lead initiatives that support children undergoing treatment at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, including an annual blanket drive in honor of Preston Wells to bring comfort to children during extended hospital stays. We also host community events that raise funds for memorial scholarships, which are awarded to each of the five high schools in Roane County.
In addition to my nonprofit work, I speak at schools about seatbelt and driving safety, and I partner with Donate LIFE Tennessee to encourage others to #BeTheGift by choosing organ and tissue donation. Blazer made the decision to become an organ donor just one month before his passing, and his choice has already helped 29 recipients.
I consider myself professional, outgoing, and highly goal driven—though I’ll admit that all of these qualities are powered by a steady blend of chaos, coffee, and Jesus. I’m truly blessed and excited to continue growing my career here at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
