Dr. Yu Ma received a B.S. in Economics from University of Washington, and a M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in Environmental Policy (Economics concentration) from Duke University. She specializes in environmental and energy economics with research interests in energy policy, energy efficiency, environmental justice, and climate change. Her previous research projects include the environmental impacts of the livestock industry and climate change, neighborhood gentrification caused by housing intervention programs, impacts of energy efficiency policies and activities on energy savings, and energy and carbon intensity measures that help manufacturing companies assess their efforts toward decarbonization for climate change mitigation. At ORNL, Dr. Ma is working with Dr. Gbadebo Oladosu and Dr. Rocio Uria-Martinez and supports applied economics and policy aspects of hydropower and bioenergy projects.
