Communications Coordinator, Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate

Sheasa Szallar is communications coordinator for the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate. In that role, she works to advance the position of ISED with key stakeholders in the Department of Energy, industry, and related science and engineering research communities. In addition, she oversees a team of matrixed staff to produce internal and external communications, including stories, press releases, newsletters, events, educational resources, websites, and social media.

Before taking the communications coordinator position in 2022, Szallar spent two years as communications specialist for the National Isotope Development Center (NIDC), which supports DOE's Isotope Program in the production and distribution of critical radioisotopes and enriched stable isotopes.

With more than 15 years of experience, Szallar previously held communications, marketing and recruiting positions with several organizations, including Windrock Inc., Haselden Construction, Terracare Associates and American Civil Constructors.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Northern Colorado.
