Shannon G Meade

Geospatial Data Analyst

I am a Geospatial Data Analyst in the Remote Sensing group, specializing in GIS, remote sensing, and the application of geospatial technologies to support collaborative research initiatives in national security, natural disaster response, and environmental monitoring.

I earned my B.S. in Sustainability Science from Furman University. My academic research focused on using GIS and remote sensing to study human-environment interactions, particularly investigating the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect and its impact on local communities. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Geospatial Information Systems and Technology at UCLA.

In addition to my work, I serve as Secretary and Conference Co-Coordinator for the Mid-South Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS).
