Dr. Sang-ho Kim is Accelerator Systems Section Head. The section is responsible for Front End, accelerating structures, Superconducting RF systems, high-power/low-level RF systems, high voltage converter modulators, DC and pulsed power systems, integrated cryogenic systems at the SNS, and associated test facilities and R&Ds, and coordinates duties for the following groups: Cryogenics group, Front End Systems group, Superconducting RF group, RF Systems group and Electrical Power Conversion group. Dr. Kim studied accelerator and fusion devices at Seoul National University, and the M. Sc. Degree in 1992 and Ph.D. Degree in 1999 in Nuclear Engineering. He joined the SNS project in 1999 as a Postdoctoral Associate and worked on the superconducting linear accelerator portion of the SNS project. Past 20 years he has been leading or involved in design, fabrication, commissioning, operation, upgrade and R&D activities in various areas of the accelerator science and technology. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. He and is also working for the SNS Proton Power Upgrade Project as the technical director. He has been contributing to the accelerator community by participating in review committees for various accelerator projects worldwide, lecturing at the accelerator schools, serving on international scientific conference committees and serving as an associate editor for IEEE transactions on Nuclear Science.
