Bio
Ryan is a mechanical designer in the Instruments group of the Second Target Station for the Spallation Neutron Source project.
Since joining ORNL in January of 2022 he has worked on the Monolith Insert (part of bunker systems), the Anger Camera in Vacuum R&D effort, and the CHESS sample environment PDR design.
Prior to ORNL, Ryan worked at Medtronic in Minneapolis, MN for 6.5 years in the Venous Solutions, Neuromodulation, Battery, and Cardiac business groups where he developed testing and manufacturing fixtures, maintained existing devices, and also worked in research for new devices. He also has experience designing professional audio/visual systems for churches and schools from his time at Audio Video Electronics.
Ryan received an Engineering/CAD diploma from Hennepin Technical College, graduating as a member of Phi Theta Kappa with a 4.0 GPA. He also has an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences for Graphics and Printing Technology from the Dunwoody College of Technology.
