Dr. Praveen Cheekatamarla is a senior researcher at ORNL and has over 20 years of combined industrial and national laboratory experience, leading multi-year, multi-organizational efforts with budgets exceeding $10M and team size of 20+, in developing products for the US industry and the US Military, involving multi-disciplinary engineering fields. He served as a technical leader and principal engineer. He was the Director of Research and Product Development at Atrex Energy and was the principal developer of fuel cell technologies, enabling commercial deployment of more than 800 fuel cell remote power generators in North America. He is a versatile professional deeply involved in various facets of business operations, demonstrating a unique blend of technical leadership, research and product development, strategic management, business analysis, and customer interface skills.
His primary areas of expertise include thermo-chemical processes, combustion, reactor development, heterogeneous catalysis, cogeneration technologies, energy modeling, systems analysis and integration. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and has more than 120 peer-reviewed publications including journal articles, presentations, conference papers and reports. He has 4 patents/patent applications to his name, 16 invention disclosures and is an editorial board member and guest editor for technical journals.
