Bio
Phong Le is a staff scientist in the Environmental Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is broadly interested in understanding the complexity and space-time variability of hydrologic and climate systems arising from the nonlinear and multi-scale interactions among their many components. He uses a combination of theory, observations, numerical modeling, and data-driven approaches in his research.
Dr. Le completed his B.E. degree in Hydrology at Vietnam Water Resources University (2006), and later received his M.S. (2011) and Ph.D. (2016) in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining ORNL, he was a postdoc in the Department of Civil Engineering at University of California, Irvine and a lecturer in the Faculty of Hydrology Meteorology and Oceanography at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam.
