Bio
Nicholas Richter currently is an R&D Associate in the Applied Microanalysis and Thermophysics group specialized in microscopy and physical metallurgy of structural alloys. He joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as a postdoctoral research associate in 2023 working in the Alloy Behavior and Design group in the Materials Science and Technology division. His research interests focus on exploring structure-property relationships in various cast and additively manufactured structural materials, addressing sustainability in aluminum alloy design, and developing conductive aluminum alloys for light-weighting electric vehicles.

Education
Nicholas completed his PhD ('23) and Bachelors ('18) in Materials Engineering at Purdue University.
