Nabaraj Pokhrel

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. Nabaraj Pokhrel, a postdoctoral research associate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has a strong background in materials simulation and modeling using first principles methods such as density functional theory. He has expertise in various material phenomena, including ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity in layered perovskite oxides, spin-orbit interactions in strongly correlated systems, and the coupling of ferroelectricity and magnetism to control isolated spins in complex oxides. Dr. Pokhrel is currently employing density functional theory to simulate high-performance magnets with minimal rare earth content.
